Jaisalmer Fort is a World Heritage Site declared UNESCO under the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan which was built by the Rajput ruler Rawal Jaisal in 1156 AD. Jaisalmer Fort was the focus of a number of battles between the Bhatis, the Mughals of Delhi and the Rathores of Jodhpur. The length of Jaisalmer fort is 1500 ft and width of the fort is 750 ft. The Jaisalmer fort was built on hill which is 250 ft tall. The fort has four entrances to the townsite one of which used to be protected by cannon.
