The Vigneshwara Temple or Vighnahar Ganapati Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha which is located at Ozar in Pune district of Indian state Maharashtra. Situated at Pune Nasik Highway on the banks of river Kukadi this temple is one of the Ashtavinayak temples of lord Ganesha. This temple is prescribed to the seventh temple to be visited in the Ashtavinayak circuit but pilgrims sometime visit this temple fifth. Ozar Ganesha temple is located about 85 km from Pune and about 9 km north to Narayangaon. This is the seventh temple, that form the Ashtavinayaka, which is eight naturally formed Ganesh temples. This journey is a very popular pilgrimage with the Hindu people.

The Shri Vighneshwar temple was built-in 1833. The Deity of this shrine is known as Vigneshwara which means remover of all obstacles. Located at a distance of about 100 km from Pune en route to Nasik 9 Kms away from Narayangaon the Vighneshwara temple is the only temple which has a golden dome with pinnacle. The shikhara of the temple was covered with gold by Chimaji Appa who is brother and military commander of the Peshwa Baji Rao first and also renovated in 1967 by the Appa Shastri Joshi. Major renovations of the temple were carried out from 1958 to 1968. According to legend King Abhinandana performed many sacrifices to become Indra. Lord Vighnasura defeated world from him. Vighnasura requested Ganpati to use his name as prefix and stay at Ozar to which Ganpati agreed. There are one people tree and Ram temple in front of the temple. Temple trust has built a new lodging complex known as Yatri Niwas in which nearly 3000 devotees can stay.

Ozar is famous as place of worship for one of the Ashtavinayak. The temple is beautiful and you experience the peace and calmness. The presiding idol of Lord Vigneshwara in this temple with the trunk tilted to the left. The idols of goddess Siddhi and goddess Riddhi are made of brass and the deity of lord Ganesha is adorned with diamonds on his forehead and eyes of idol are embellished with emeralds. The temple has courtyard, sculptural and mural work on walls, and an entrance. The temple is surrounded with a wall that has a gateway with gatekeeper’s sculptures. An east facing idol of lord Ganesha flanked by his consorts Siddhi and Riddhi with a grand entrance, sculptural and mural work. The idol of lord Ganesha is decorated with precious and semi precious stones.The temple celebrates the usual festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Ganesh Jayanti and also a five-day festival starting on Kartik Poornima. Lots of pilgrims visit this temple on festival days. Visitors can get nice Ganesh Idols outside of the temple.
