The Sidi Saiyyed Mosque is more popular as “Sidi Saiyyid ki Jaali” or Sidi Saiyyed Ni zaali. The mosque is built around 1573 and one of the most famous tourist place in Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The mosque was built-in the final year of the entity of Gujarat and a slave of Sultan Ahmed Shah established this mosque. The Mosque is located in the famous area of Ahmedabad city in. The mosque has a carved Tree Jali done on the semicircular arch. The Mosque is built with yellow sandstone in Islamic culture style. The rear wall of the mosque is filled with square stones and pierced panels. This Confusingly carved stone window is called the Sidi Saiyyed Jali and it is the unofficial symbol of the city of Ahmedabad and used as the logo of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. The mosque has total eight arched windows which are carved in tree designed stone. 45 craftsmen worked in this jali and because of the lake of the time the last window was left without stone carving. There is a tomb inside the mosque complex where tourist also visits.
