As per the history, the sultan of Gujarat named Mehmud Begda died in 1511 and the sultanate handover to his son Khalil Khan who assumed the name Muzaffar and established this fort and later combined into Vadodara. Before the Fort name was Kila-e-Daulatabad but later renamed to Laheripura Gate. It is an inseparable part of Western Fort. Even if being the oldest and historic monuments in the city Laheripura Gate now become a normal part of the local infrastructure. IT has a mark of Persian architecture and one of the four ancient gates of city. Recently it has renovated by ASI and after renovation this gate is looking more beautiful.
