Viceregal Lodge is a presidential palace which was used by the residence of the British Viceroy during an ancient time. The Viceregal Lodge is also known as The Rashtrapati Niwas. It is situated on the hills of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh state of India. The Viceregal Lodge is lies on the Observatory Hill west side of Shimla. The viceregal Lodge was the first building of its kind who could employ electric lighting and also had the latest technology and own steam generator. People believed that this was the first building that used a switch for the electric light. The Lodge owned every facility such as hot and cold water for bathing, system for storing bath and rainwater. The management provides well guided tour to tourists but they aren’t allowed tourist to have an entire place visit only few places are open for tourist visits.
