Devi Kund Sagar in Bikaner

The Devi kund Sagar is a crematorium place of members of royal family. The Devi kund sugar is situated eight km far from Bikaner city and built-in excellent of Rajputana style architecture. It is built-in the memory of the deceased Royal family of the Bikaji Dynasty. There are small structures with chattris are constructed together where royal members are buried after their death. These chattris are called cenotaphs and its reveals bravery and chivalry stories of Rajput community. All the chattris are made of red sandstone during early period and white marble chattris are made after that rulers. Each chattris structure is wonderful but Maharaja Suraj Singh’s Chattris is prettiest and attractive. This cenotaph or chattris look different due to having Rajput style decorative paintings on the ceiling. Devi kund sagar can be called as a burial complex built-in respect and memory of Rajput king, queens and members of royal family. The first cenotaphs is built of Rao Kalyanmal who was the fifth ruler of Bikaner during 1542 to 1571 AD.
