Belur Maṭh is a headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission which was founded by Swami Vivekananda, the religious center is a loving memorial to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa who preached for unity of all religions. Located near the Hooghly River The belur math is spread across 40 acres of land. Built with hindu, islamic, buddhist, Rajput, christian styles of architecture the belur math includes four temples like Sri Ramakrishna Temple, Swami Brahmananda Temple, Swami Vivekananda Temple and Temple of Sri Sarda Devi. All temples are famous for its unique significations.

The Ramakrishna Museum which is located at belur math contains memory belongings of Sri Ramakrishna, Ma Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda.The museums have on display the articles and clothes used by Sri Sarada Devi, Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda. Sri Ramakrishna Museum which has been set up with the help from National Council of Science Museum. Festivals like Durga Puja and Kumari Puja are one of the main attractions of belur math. Also celebrate Kumari Puja which was started by Swami Vivekananda in 1901. Also celebrates christmas eve and buddha jayanti and other different religious festivals. The Belur Math also conducts many humanitarian and social activities all over India and abroad.
